No more excuses

I have been a little slack this month with my blogging. That's because the rainy season has gone, the weather is cooler and I have been spending a lot of time outside, but that's really no excuse for not keeping you all updated about my adventures.

It's past midnight, but I have to stay awake to blog. Yawnnnnnn.....

Let's start with a smile....

Here's proof that I have been out and about:

It's a tough climb up the Fuzhoushan Park.

The sun peeking through the lush green trees.

The long winding road ahead.

Taking a break before going down our favorite mountain trail.

Yawn again.....And here are some photos from my last two visits to the hospital.

Don't laugh at me, but the towel is there to keep the car slobber free.

I came on an empty stomach, feed me, Grandma!

Me and Nana busy catching hoops.

Big smile for the camera!

Sit and you will be given!

Good boy, Junbo!

Let's do the twist!

Howdy says Hello to Grandma.

That's all for now, good night my friends and Happy Halloween!

Chicken Pie & Burrito

Last week, Mom took me on a nice long walk along Dun Hua South Road in search for more dog friendly places. We first arrived at Bone House, Mom thought it was a Pet Café, but it turned out to be a Doggy Bakery instead. Anyway, she bought a Chicken Pie for me and I was one happy dog.

Mom tasted it and gave it two thumbs up. It was filled with chicken, potatoes and carrots and I loved it!

It started raining a bit, we had to find shelter and we ended up at “Lecce”, an American Mexican joint that serves hot dogs and burritos.

It looked like a nice place to hang out with ample seating on two floors. Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed inside and I had to take the alfresco seat, which is fine as I love to watch the world go by.

Mom ordered a chicken burrito that came with a yummy salsa sauce and a coffee.

It continued to rain after she finished her dinner and so we went inside the restaurant to pose in front of the colorful wall.

Finally the rain stopped and we made our way home. We will definitely come back to Dun Hua South Road again for more chicken pies and burritos! Yay!

Poor Poor Pug

Sigh.... Another abandoned dog. :(
Mom received a call from another doggy mommy, Dou Dou Mom asking her if she knows of any animal rescue organization because she found a skinny pug outside the convenience store. She asked mom to bring a spare leash over and she gave the pug some food.

This is the poor pug, they have never seen any pug as emaciated as this one.

His nails were over-grown.

He is all skin and bones and there are some sores on his bum, vet says he was probably kept in a cage without any care for a long time. How cruel! Vet says he appears healthy and is about one to two years old. He also did not have any ID tags or microchip on him.

Vet took his blood to run some tests.

Phew! He tested negative for Heartworm and Distemper. That is good news, but sending him to the shelter may not be a good idea at this point because he is unlikely to be adopted by anyone within seven days and so, Dou Dou Mom decided to bring him home. Yippee! Dou Dou the three legged golden retriever is going to get a new playmate!

Here is Puggy after a bath. Look at his trimmed nails! The groomer even put a yellow scarf on him!

You can't save them all, but at least we got another abandoned dog off the streets. Here is a reminder to all dog owners or future dog owners: 10 Promises to My Dog

Shall we dance?

This video was made specially for my friends at The Gold Post who are always very encouraging and supportive towards us.

Mom had wanted to take up some canine freestyle lessons with me, but they were postponed, so she decided to practice some moves at home. Dancing with dogs is great for the human-canine bond. Just look at Carolyn Scott and Rookie, we hope to be like them one day.

A Perfect Rainbow makes a Perfect Day

October 10 was Taiwan's National Day, it was also a public holiday, but Dad had to go back to work in the morning. Luckily work ended early and he came back before 3pm. It looked like a sunny day and we decided to go to the dog park. Unfortunately, it started to rain when we arrived, so we had to find somewhere else to go.

I was really disappointed, but we saw the most perfect rainbow while we were on the highway and that cheered me up a little. The colors were so vibrant and it was the most beautiful rainbow I have ever seen!

After that, we went past the National Taipei University of Education ( 國立臺北教育大學) and decided to go in for a little run. It is a prestigious teacher training university in Taipei.

The sun was almost setting and there were many families and students exercising in the field. Here's a clip of Dad and I playing fetch.

After a good workout, we went to a porridge place for dinner.

Mom ordered these dishes to go with the porridge.

Dad was happy with his dinner.

We met this cute toddler there, his name is Potter and he loves me!

Annual Rabies Vaccination

I went to the vet for my yearly rabies jab today and received a certification and a blue round tag that I have to wear on my collar.

I was looking a little sad here, but that was because I was sleeping and Mom woke me up for these photo shots. This mommy!

Rabies is a fatal viral infection and humans contract rabies when they are bitten by an infected animal. Bats, skunks, raccoons, dogs and cats can transmit the disease. Anyone who has been bitten by an animal or exposed to the rabies virus must seek immediate medical attention.

Rabies vaccinations save lives, so my furry friends, get your rabies shots up to date.

Greeting from Baby Zoe

Zoe sent me a photo! Look how adorable she is! I hope we can have a play date soon! I love Zoe!!!
