Dr. Dog Advanced Level: Lesson Six

Last Sunday was our final Dr. Dog lesson. The class started with our owners carrying us and sitting in a circle. I am a little to big to be carried on the lap, so I only had my upper body on Dad's lap. One owner and dog heeled around while those owners who were sitting, gave their dogs a massage all over.

The last two tricks that we learned were jumping over on command and catching hoops thrown at us.

Here we are practicing with the hoops.

Then, our instructor placed some papers on the floor and we heeled around them and I had to sit and stay when we are near the paper. Then Dad picked up the paper, walked a bit and then drop the paper on the floor before I could get up to get a treat. This is an excellent practice for situations when our owners had to stop to pick up our poo or answer their mobile phones.

Next was getting used to walking on different materials and we took turns to walk on different types of surfaces.

This was followed by learning to go through a tunnel chute.

Lastly, our instructor marked a cross in the middle and we and our owners had to stand at opposite sides of the rooms. First, I had to do a down stay and then go to Dad when he says "come" and when I reached the cross in the middle, I had to do a down stay again. Our instructor said that this skill is often used by dogs on movie sets when they have to go to a down position at a specific location. I did pretty well in this segment, below is a short clip to share! Doggywood, here I come!

I left the class with a heavy heart because I don't know when I will be seeing my friends again. Today is a Sunday and I already miss going to school. Lastly, I would like to thank Molly, our instructor for guiding us through this advanced level. It was super fun, practically stress free and I learned so many tricks that will come in useful when I start servicing.

Yesterday, Dad and Mom attended a session of therapy dog handler workshop in the morning without me. I hope they will bring me on the next lesson. For now, I am still practicing and learning new tricks everyday.

It's Party Time!

After the trip to the Pet Fair, we headed on to Cosy Shell to celebrate our passing of the Dr. Dog test with our friends.

When we arrived, A2 Mom and Snoopy's Mom were already there. A2 Mom brought Wen Wen to have her teeth cleaned and she was still groggy after the anesthesia.

Mom just couldn't resist giving her a hug.

Here's Snoopy with his favorite pillow, it goes everywhere with him.

And cute Bibi smiling at his mommy.

Mei Mei, our friend from the practice sessions came too!

Dad's treat pouch seemed very interesting that night.

This is another Mei Mei, but she is a husky, it was my first time meeting her.

Hey, you guys! What are you doing?

Pudding's Dad carrying Lafy for a photo.

Buggy was here too!

Dali was all dolled up for the party.

Then, everyone started to get busy with treats from Pudding's Family.

Here's Nana.

Wen Wen.

Snoopy.

Lafy.

Buggy.

And the humans got busy with their cameras.

Unfortunately, they do not serve doggie meals there, but they do have very nice set dinners for the humans.

Here's Mom's salad.

And soup.

Mom's main course: Thai Style Chicken

Dad's main course: Pork Chop.

This was followed by coffee and cakes.

Pudding's family brought 3 boxes of cakes, so there were more cakes! I did get a taste of the yummy cream!

Snoopy couldn't resist the tempting smells.

Vicki is an instructor at Dr. Dog's and she was invited to pop the champagne that Belle's Family brought.

After sips of champagne, Vicki shared with us about her experience with clicker training for chickens. I was paying the most attention.

Shortly after, Nana joined in. Actually, Vicki was holding a plate of cakes. Hee Hee!

After that, everyone took turns to share about how the Dr. Dog training has benefited them and then one by one, we started to head for home.

That's all folks! Coming up next will be about my final Dr. Dog Advanced lesson.

To the Pet Fair!

The annual AquaPet Fair was held over the weekend at the Taipei World Trade Center from 18th to 21st July. We were all looking forward to it because it would be my first time going to a pet fair.

The World Trade Center is located right next to the Taipei 101 building.

Dad had to run some errands in the building, so Mom and I waited outside. There were so many people walking around!

Waiting patiently...

Yay! We are here!

It was packed with people and doggies and there wasn't much room for walking.

Look! It's Winnie the Pooh!

No! It's Hadi (哈帝), the Dr. Dog!

This is Hadi (哈帝) and his Mom. She is quite an amazing woman as she has a total of eight dogs and they are all Dr. Dogs.

Mom, of course had to take a photo with this cutie!

This is not Hadi (哈帝), it's me!!! See my birthmark? Hadi's Mom was so kind to lend us the pooh ears for some photo shots.

Smile! Winnie, Smile!

Posing with Dad.

This is one beautiful yellow lab.

It's an AquaPet Fair, so naturally there would be lots of fishes too! Here's one gorgeous blue fish.

We had to rush off to a party, so here's me looking cool in the taxi.

We were there on a Saturday and as it was really crowded, we only managed to get a hair brush and some treats. Mom concluded that last year's fair was a lot more interesting, but she decided that she would go again without me on the last day, which is a Monday to have a better look.

And see who she met! It's Cherry! One of Mom's favorites!

Mom was too happy to get a photo with Cherry again!

When Mom came back, she put everything together and so here's the total loot from the two days.

Can I come and sniff yet?

Unbelievable! Are you sure it's all for me?

Why do I always have to do this before I eat it?

That's all about the pet fair, I have to go and enjoy my yummy treats, but look out for my next post about the celebration party with my Dr. Dog friends!
